About The Role

As the Finishing Cook you will be responsible for preparing meals for our Kitchen.

You will ensure that Westmorland specifications are followed which will include fresh food preparation, cooking and adding the finishing touches to the home-made dishes created by our production team.

You will need to be organised with great attention to detail, so that the kitchen is always clean and stock levels are managed to ensure food is presented to the best standard and quality when it reaches our customers. 

Your responsibilities;

  1. It begins with preparation and planning. Working with your customer facing colleagues you will ensure food is ready and available to serve    to our customers throughout the day.
  2. Following our seasonal recipes, you will ensure that food is cooked and presented to specification, including allergen and dietary requirements.
  3. Monitoring food and stock levels so that we only offer fresh, quality products, whilst minimising food waste.
  4. You will maintain a clean, tidy and safe kitchen, willing to scrub in whenever needed to ensure an excellent working environment.
  5. Responsible for the food hygiene systems you will ensure the kitchen is compliant and complete all relevant company records, temperature checks and HACCP paperwork.
  6. Offer up to date knowledge and advice on all our food to customers and colleagues, to ensure to help maximise the full sales potential from the food counters to delight our customers.
  7. Communicate and escalate any product issues or concerns to your team leader to help keep the flow of delicious food available.
  8. Embrace learning! You will undertake any further training required, whether refreshing your knowledge or developing your skills.
  9. Work together with the larger catering team, using flexibility and your initiative to change your own activities to meet different circumstances.
  10. To carry out any reasonable instruction given by your line manager
  11. Share your knowledge to get the best out of your team. You will help coach and train new colleagues and communicate new menu launches and changes to the customer facing teams.

About You


Part Time (3 days 21.75 hours)(Full Time hours considered)


If you have experience working in catering and are organized, good under pressure and would like to take a step into the kitchen you will be fully supported with training. 

Our ideal candidate would have at least 1 years’ experience in a chef or cook role and or experienced working in a fast pace, high volume catering environment.
