Welcome from the Westmorland Hotel team

The Westmorland Hotel is part of the Westmorland Family, a growing group of motorway service areas with a difference, which grew from the Dunning family farm in Cumbria, when the M6 was built through our land.

Like our guests you’ll be surprised with what our hotel has to offer. Once inside, there is no hint that the M6 is only minutes away.

All 51 bedrooms have great views, but what’s really special is the panoramic view over Bretherdale from the hotel restaurant. Our restaurant is open every day for dinner and like the rest of the company we use beef and lamb from the family farm. Our head chef and his team plan the menu and change it regularly to make the most of seasonal local produce. We’re very proud of the food we serve and receive numerous compliments from our guests – many of them regulars.

We continually invest in the hotel – most recently we refurbished our hotel lounge, bar and reception area to give it a fresh, modern look whilst retaining features that are unique to us.

Most of all we have a great team. It can be hard work from time to time, but we’re all here to support each other and we’d love for you to join us.
