We are looking for an experienced Catering Manager to lead our busy and unique motorway service area catering department. There are no franchises on our sites; instead we make all our food ourselves with the best local ingredients and meat from out family farm enabling us to stand out from the usual offering on the motorway.
As the Catering Manager, you will ensure a smooth, efficient and commercially focused catering department. Passionate about the way we do business, you will know our food, food sources and producers and share this with your team to enable them to offer the highest levels of service for our customers.
You will lead by example with a hands on presence on the department, as well as providing training support and offering guidance to deputy catering managers, service leaders and team members to ensure they are always able to deliver brilliant customer service and oversee all day to day operations.
You are accountable for financial performance of the department including achievement of sales, margin and waste targets as well as budget setting, cost management and profit control and will look at the business through the eyes of our customers to spot and act on opportunities that will bring commercial benefit, ensuring you work to continuously improve.
You are responsible for the day to day management of the team including rota management, absence management, performance and conduct issues.
You will implement new initiatives, products and recipes and maintain standards throughout the department ensuring exceptional food quality is delivered as well as contributing to the wider catering team.
